How To Run a $1,000,000 political campaign on $1,000
Government interloping in everyday life particularly by pseudo libs calling themselves "democrat" but really are socialists has gotten to such a point that this 76 year old war horse and a veteran of many political campaigns in what is called today a "blue" state and city and having that experience as a highly respected designer of of print campaigns which have been sucessfull I decided rather than throw hands up in dispair. don't think just because you've decided to run you can sit on your ass and the partys gonna thank you and get out the vote ...It ain't gonna happen..Some candidates feel because they don't have an opponent during a primary all they have to do is sit on their keister and wait for a month before election to campaign....If you feel that way YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS RUNNING FOR OFFICE , especially in a heavily blue district
Just by taking a look at sundry candidate websites throughout the country they're first timers running for office Its obvious to me that the RNCEC offers little advice to those first time running candidates how to present themselves or even how to organize a campaign

Your going to have make do with what you have and that is relying on print material and word of mouth. So your biggest expences are in cases of paper. There's a line in the movie "Patton" delivered by George C Scott where he standing before assembled troops delivers the line "America hates a looser and we're not loosers" to a certain extent thats true anywhere. What he didn't add was this, and its peculuar to Americans. What Americans love and respect is a fighter. And that, during your campaign is what you have to project, throughout your campaign.

There is a tendency to load up sites with fancy smancy links forever downloads and lengthy verbage pleasing to the "geek elite" but to print out would take 10 pages of dangling sentences . Your objective is to reach as many as you can.
While there are pleanty of computer savey voters out there. There are more that ain't, and they don't have the time or the equipment especially if they're on line. They're too busy trying to pay the bills . Its nice to have the 20 somethings, who go to the UTube ,talk about you but who goes to the polls more often ? Its a fact they don't.

GET YOUR NAME OUT THERE ... YOUR BROCHURE PAGE SHOULD BE PRINTER FRIENDLY ! ABLE TO BE PRINTED ON ONE PIECE OF PAPER 8+x11 ON BOTH SIDES SO YOU CAN USE THIS AS YOUR HANDOUT AND SUPPORTERS CAN PRINT THESE UP AND HAND THEM OUT TO THEIR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS.
EXAMPLE Use half of a 8+X11 sized printed page, (make this your introduction page) with the pitch to print and the lower half with your pitch for support or visa versa.
To print my campaign piece front and back properly; Go to File on your tool bar and click on Print View and view this page by page. Set your printer page setting depending on. At this point in your instructions decide which sheet width you will be using for an 8+ X 11 sheet and give your instructions accordingly. If your layout is portrait 8+" width or landscape 11" width and tell them to set their printer accordingly. It should show my flyer can be printed on 3 pages pages 1 to 3. If it shows 4 pages reduce the type size. Go to View on your Tool Bar and click on Print Size click Smaller. Then on Print instructions click print page 2 of 2 page after it comes out of your printer insert that printed page printed side up with the top of the page going first into the printer if your printer loads front the front. If it loads from the back its blank (unprinted) side up facing you with the top of the printed side going down into the chute first. . Then go back to File and on print instructions click Print page 3 of 3
If it shows less than 2 pages increase the type size.

If not you have to go the whole 9 yards. Be required to pay for a domain name which is your web address, and take a note from others keep your address simple. If you have no experience in setting up a website there are free editing programs which are compatable with Windows and Macs, 1st Page 2000 by Eversoft, an Austrialian outfit is one of the few, its free, and better than Front Page. EQUIPMENT GET PEOPLE PARTICIPATION IN YOUR CAMPAIGN
This design uses a 1/3 business fold the top of the page your logo which can include a pix,YOUR NAME and the office your running for,and your campaign slogan. Your logo should fit in that 1/3rd fold (3 1/2 x 8").This can be used as a inside window sign for a car or house
A map, or at least a verbal discription of your district,particularly if your running for a legislative post in a specific district. Too often this is ignored but its a piece of information most voters don't know about which insures your blurb is kept and not tossed away.
Then a brief statement why your running, which also includes your main opponents name if an incumbant.
. If you can work with your host county, the county you live and vote in, you can post your page,and your "blog" into their website index file as an htm or html (a link to a given subject)
It is not a separate site but a page in The US Mat.Com site. You can do the same thing listing your county GOP org address first followed by a /yourname.htm and posting your page in the hosts index file
Doing it this will save tons of money. Likewise you can have a layout (as I suggested) different than the county try not to step on any toes within the local party.
If your running for Congress,or a state wide office you should really have your own website .
SELECTING A PRINTER
Because all jet printers use a water soluble ink and lazer printers don't. If its possible to rent a lazer printer do so, but make certain the ink used in that printer is not water soluble. Using this and the blow up features you can make some decent sized all weather signs by piecing pieces together like they do for billboards thus getting your name out to the voters.
If this proves to be too expensive your printer should have the capability to, scan & post,,blow up to 200%, and fax. There are "water fix" sprays which will coat the item that will allow material (signs etc) to be used for outside .Buy a spray can and test it first to see if the ink runs before you by a case of the stuff because you'll be using a lot of it. Its still not as good as "dry" ink which holds up better.
Besides cases of ink cartridges for your printer,(use black when possible)and double faced adheasive tape. A perfing tool comes in handy which is a serrated circular blade (wheel) used by dressmakers known as a pinking knife comes in handy for tearoff survey replys see article following.
USE VOTER SURVEYS

To see how your doing take a name recognition polling using the Independent Polling Device, Random call 10 people in each ward of your district. Read off five names including yours and your opponents and see what response you get. Those affore mentioned perforations if your going with an 8+X14" sized card stock can be done by vols by hand using a perf tool which is a small serrated circular blade (wheel) with a handle used by dressmakers (pinking knife or blade ).

It is suggested that throughout the US those directing state media buys find out if, where, and when,(time slot) this occured in your particular state. To determine the effectivness of a given ad don't resort to polls or certainly not a push poll,go out to coffee shops, bars whatever, and casually listen to responses.
If your hearing a negative reaction such as "OH they're all crooks", try a different time slot or rework the ad. Also create a file and log stations doing this in a file if you retire and GOTB&BT give information to your sucessors.

When an issue is clearly defined such as when Kerry's core beliefs who along with many Liberals that began as "Viet Nam peace-nicks" now turned college Professors of Mental Predacity, or liberal Democratic legislators, casting effluent upon America's military which became blatantly exposed but not exploited.
When no other than the President of the United States first responds to a slur on the US Military made by Abscam artist Jack Murtha stating "well its a free country" responding to Cong Murtha 12th PA when he categorized our troops as : But then later demands an apology from John Kerry but goes no furthur.
Why ? The strategy was to completely forget about saving the troublesome conservatives in the House and concentrate on keeping the Senate. Harris in Florida, Graf, in Arizona both had incured the wrath of the RNC and the Bushes by contesting candidates favored by Bush faced costly and contentious primarys and became damaged goods in the general election.
Would a connection of Senator Kerry and his ilk like Senator Durbin, of Illinois (who compared our military to Nazis) or Murtha of PA who called injure future working relationships or ? Whether or not that reason was considered is pure speculation but none the less that opportunity to attack was not used. And, if one looks at the way Bush has conducted his previous campaigns which were allways unnecessary cliff hangers when he should have won handily.
Bush rarely used personal attacks. It is that peculiarity of ego (only Karl Rove would really know this). If Rove didn't suggest a strong response he really sucks as a campaign manager. But to refuse to attack also contributed. Thus had no effect on the election. Thanks to the talkies who figured MSM would pick it up and run with it but didn't. Nor did many conservative Republicans running for office hammer away at this weakness taking their cue from the almighty Bush.
While Democratic and Republican pundits are conjuring up the reasons why the GOP lost lets look at the facts and the issues presented to the voters and not created by some talk show host or print/web pundit. The facts show this;
John Forbes Kerry is a US Senator of the Democratic party elected from Massachusetts chosen party standard bearer to run for President in 2004 .Kerry was known by his detractors as "The Cambodia Kid" claiming he was, then later admitting he wasn't ever there. While on a campaign stop in California supporting a Democratic gubnatorial candidate Kerry repeated the liberal mantra that goes well on college campuses to a college group . Kerry claimed in effect that the only place where the "unedumacated" can go is into military service as professors and their mush head followers laughed approvingly. His remarks were broadcast almost immediately over talk radio and the internet.
Kerry faced demands for an apology which he refused to do. American Legion demand for apology.
Defended by most of the democratic leadership including PA 12th dist Jack Murtha , Robert (Bob) Casey Jr (PA candidate for US Senate), Dave Obey, WI 7th, (who at the time is running a TV commercial of a local state organization giving him an award "for supporting the troops" in his re-election bid),(more names to follow). The only major Democratic leader to speak against the insult was Hillary Clinton who issued a mild rebuke along with a few swing district congressional candidates. Initially as expected main stream media which did not carry the Kerry remarks and MSM pundits defended Kerry leading off with CNBC's Chris Matthews.
As public criticism mounted Kerry first demagoged his contempt for the military into a ten minute "smear and fear" response diatribe blaming Bush. After complaints mounted for 2 days he then issued a website statement which the MSM terms an apology, apologizing to those who were offended by his "joke" because "they misinterpreted his remarks" and canceled all speaking appointments including one for Casey.
Kerry has had a history of shooting off his mouth ever since he's entered politics. Besides claiming units he was assigned to while in Viet Nam committed attrocities which later was proven to be untruthful.
During his run for the Presidency and after Kerry's made several disparaging utterances about Americans in uniform but there have been other less publicized pronouncements.
In one case Kerry caused riots in Haiti when he stated he would reinstate Aristide if elected. This caused a UN commander to complain. This was covered by the BBC but never in US MSM. Another statement comes to mind Kerry made is the accusation the new Iraqi government is a puppet of the US. This may have resulted in the Iraqi PM demanding the US Army remove its checkpoints entering a dangerous area in Bagdad which it did. Al Jezeera has frequently featured his remarks as well as other democratic radicals such as Sen Dick Durban of Illinois, and PA 12th dist Congressman Jack Murtha, which has fueled resistance.
Have statements made by Democratic radicals such as Kerry, Durban, Kennedy, Murtha, and others impeded a democratic solution so desperately sought for Iraq ? The only way this can be determined is when a congressional hearing gets held and rules of conduct set up so that during times of conflict the greater interest is maintained. This will only happen when the radicals get the boot.
Will Kerry's and other democratic party radicals obtuse behavior change many Democrats ? There a line in an old 40's Bob Hope movie "Ghost Breakers" which goes like this. Hope is talking to one of the heavys (Paul Lukas?) playing an expert on Ghosts...and asks "Do you mean there are such people as the undead, zombies, ?" "Yes" the character replies, "Zombies and undead may look like you and I, but are like puppets, have no will of their own, they follow and do what ever they're told by the one who brings them up from the grave"...to which Hope deadpans... "You mean like democrats" ? With constituents like that is it any wonder arrogance and inflated egos develope.
Yet a lot of the blame goes to mainstream media who let the radicals gaffes, lies, half truths, and half baked explanations of bizzare personal behavior slide by or even perpetuate them as they present these candidates to the public.
Is it any wonder then as the alternative to both, print and visual main stream media Conservative Talk Radio, and the internet, is more and more being relied upon to bring out the downside information on these individuals. Whether AM (alternative media) has "arrived" will depend on the results of the 06 mid term election, and the results of the election discussed following this article. There is a fight that goes on between the administrative and legislative branches that is oft forgotten in mid term elections and it is mostly on philoshophical reasons. Eisenhower, in his mid term let the Republicans languish and the same can be said for Bush.
Bush is not a conservative,this has been oft repeated by AM talkies Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Neal Boortz, Michael Savage and others. In all of his stump for speeches Bush has never mentions the word "immigration" and it was caught by a NBC reporter when covering the Sunday morning review of news prior to Tim Russert's "Meet The Press".

. Emmanuel left the impression he felt lying is good as long they win. Its also good because opponents have to spend good money on counter ads to refute the charges and its mainly Democrats using this tactic. If any of his constituency on the north side of Chicago don't know what the Kerry type (don't you know who I am) character is and acts like should have seen the show.
In a number of races held by radical candidates which should have been seriously contested there are mystery candidates.
Some have made some effort some not. Here's a guy who could have used the expertese and some $$$ from the RNC but didn't get it and seems to have pooped out. His last release was from a month ago.
His opponent a dinosaur from the 60's voted for defunding South Viet Nam and like the good radical he is, is parading as a defender of the troops, he defended Kerry's "joke" about the Troops which was worthy of a statement but its not there. .
Many of those Radical Liberals such as Schumer, Obey, Pelosi,who voted against tossing out members for deviant behavior have prominent positions in the congress today and if the scheme works will wind up in leadership roles after the November polls close.
It is yet to be proven if Foley will be hung up on his own petard for the salacious material in question was sent not to a juvenile but to an adult and the FBI is conducting a thorough investigation.If found guilty Foley should and will be charged as a "pedophile". This blog is not an issue first response blathering,To be a true pundit one should run for public office and get their ass whipped a couple of times. What I'll be looking at and analyze in generalities will be the mechanics of losing: Before I begin let me say this; Does anybody remember the Robert Redford movie "The Candidate"? Redford played a facile candidate running for office hinging on every word of his campaign manager who after winning asks "What do we do now"? Few candidates are like that. Wether they are Democratic, Republican,or whatever party, have principles, review what their speech writers suggest and if they agree use or revise the submitted material. Usually they are close friends, closer than writers of comedy are to the comedian which have to work out timing and line delivery. From this distance Karl Rove never impressed me. I don't know the man, never met him. But I'd wince at the accolades given him by party syncophants and MSM types . I always looked at the Bush returns for the 1st and 2nd term elections and saw missed opportunities to attack the opponents which I've been attributing to Bush himself, his elections always turned into squeekers. Chicago Area Bank Assisting Mexican Consulate
Eager to sign up banking customers The 5th 3rd Bank of Illinois through the banks regional director has been assisting the Mexican Consulate distribute the Metricula Consular photo I D card to undocumented illegals lined up at a Chicago west suburban school in the city of Aurora. In which 200 were issued The ID was being offered from a traveling bookmobile type of vehicle termed a mobile consulate operated by the Mexican Government, through the Mexican Consulate.
The Metricula Consular a photo ID being issued by the Mexican government does not verify names or addresses and is not recognized by the state of Illinois or the US for that matter as a means of identification .The frequent complaint has been any Mexican appearing person with a fluency in spanish and a phoney birth certificate can obtain one. Illinois does not recognize it for use obtaining a drivers license however it would appear certain banks accept it as a legitimate ID.
Within recent years The 5th 3rd Bank has taken over numerous small neighborhood banks within the City and suburbs in the Chicago area, Many of those banks did not peanalize the elderly for maintaining accounts under a given ammount but once taken over by the 5th 3rd faced service charges because they were not able to do so.
