The EPA warning and regulations on mercury poisoning from these bulbs. "If one bulb were dropped and broken in the chambers of the House of Representatioves the place would have to be evacuated". . What the congressman from California should have done but didn't was: Demand that the EPA require at minimum a printed public warning on each package about the dangers of using these mandated light bulbs and ultimately issue a recall, or, dismiss their instructions on disposal and use as excessive, and issue a revision. Examples: Recent sea ice reductions in both polar caps for example have been caused by volcanic activity. Deep beneath a glacier in Antartica, a lake was discovered meaning the earth is warming from the bottom. In the Arctic the sea bed is heating causing the sea ice to melt. both apparently caused by volcanic activity. How can this (volcanic activity) be attributed to poluted air ? But poluted air being attributed to melting ice caps and "global warming ". Excessive hyperbole.. Commercials by certain advocate groups show a little girl warning about Polar Bears disappearing from the earth. This when the state of Alaska's DNR reports an increase in Polar Bear population. But the most blatant example of bad legislation in the 2007 mandated phase out of the common filament light bulb which according to the US Congress uses too much electricity be replaced with a product known either as a CFB or CFL compact fluorescent bulb (or light) which has dangerous amounts of mercury in it . These should be sold with a consumer warning plainly displayed on each bulb that breakage would cause a severe health hazard. The reason the pope made that statement is explained in this satirical piece written two years ago in Moses's Opuses If you take your hand held (portable) radio set to any AM frequency and bring it near to any CFB, (compact fluorescent bulbs) TV set, or computer, you will get RFI radio frequency interference. In most cases the greatest RFI will come from CFBs and it will affect radio reception in certain frequencies from furthur away in other rooms in the house than those other devices mentioned. When am radio was in its heyday that bulb would not have been produced and banned by the FCC. Take one of those mandated screwy bulbs and try it, they are noisey !Was this done to silence those pesky anti global warmists ?? Is the state going to throw these people in jail because of their refusing using CFBs ? How about the market place deciding their use ? Others are used for their cheaper heat and light used in many applications, such as in pump houses, chicken coops, and other applications where heat and light are needed. This was not considered when incandescent bulb production, now mostly cheaply imported, was banned by law without a whimper from the pricier US fluorescent bulb producers, which are now are also outsourced to China. How about this ? Will light emitting diodes, a new generation of illumination in the midst of development leds which show the greatest promise of lowest energy use. Will they be put out of business ?...Why ??? Governments mandating anything particularly a product use restricts product development (and raises the question who is getting the money ?)is all ways suspicious. Mandating any product, CFBs, (and that includes ethanol) are stop gap measures which should have been driven by the market place not by laws. These legislative stupidities will have to be addressed eventually because of its legislative mandates and funding which prevent technological development What do you do when you have a weak candidate who is clearly inconsistant and pandering on positions ? You play the blame game and resort to political devices one of which is to play the race card. Listening to two "conservative" talkies, Bill Cunningham, on his Sunday PM show and Sean Hannity, in his Monday late afternoon show both interviewing black "conservatives". Each asked them to cite their reasoning why they're supporting Obama. Their answer boiled down to a very dissapointing "cause the color of his skin is the same as mine". What stupid logic ! In both cases it appears the respondents "conservative" core beliefs such as anti abortion, pro school choice, protection of marriage, are as deep as the membrane which covers their body. The high price of oil is based on the falacious assumption that oil is a "fossil fuel" .It's reserves are extremely finite. The facts are we still don't know the processes occuring in oils formation which may be a contiuning process. This when they're finding reserves all over the place recently off shore in the Falklands and most recently a huge find in Brazilian waters and of course US discoveries including the shale oil reserve. Next take the EPA protection act which is based on the assumption that CO2 causes global warming when water vapor which seems to not have been included in era analysis of gasses during earth warming epochs. The EPA then sets up seasonal refinement requirements for differing population centers for various US states based on assumed emissions, all of which adds to the price of fuel for that area. There is a reason the obstreperous Iraqi PM Nori Maliki has not been long since dumped and it goes back to the revered Kennedy administration. This policy which is "Lets export our current concept of "democracy" which is even if the decision is to bring in people which are against our interests and have wound up in very terrible terms against the interests of the very people they wind up ruling" Despite the empirical evidence of these policies failures it has been continuously reinforced partciularly though intitutions including higher learning to this day. This was reapplied by the Carter Administration to Iran, and the PLO, but it traces its roots back to FDR,the OSS , The Weidermeier report, Mao, and Ho Chi Min. And why few Presidents really run policy at The Department of State. There is a reason few Senators ever get elected President of The United States, experience in administration. The references to JFK and to his administration have reached mythological proportions and its time to examine past history. Kennedy was right on when it came to fiscal policy but when it came to foreign policy we are still suffering the consequences of his decisions Forget the reported dalliances with sundry females which paraded through the White House including Norma Jean. AKA Marlyin Monroe. Rarely if ever do you hear a discussion about the first Cuban crisis, or the reported rifts between Kennedy and the elected President of South Viet Nam which was resolved with the assassination of Ngo Dinh Diem which left a vacuum of government leadership which plagued that conflict and led to the current result. Diem . Both were Catholics, the left at that time was busy reporting on Diem's favoring Catholics vs Buddists and that his government was rife with corruption (shades of China), which was fast becomming a political issue for Kennedy fostered by anti papists.The question which has never been raised is this ; In the midst of a civil war what would happen to the union if Lincoln (like Diem) was assassinated ? Why is Diem brought up ? Because past history draws a comparison between our past mistakes in Viet Nam and current history in Iraq particularly dealing

One was the execution of a Viet Cong by a Viet Nam General in a civil war , and two, the depiction of a naked little girl being burned alive during a napalm attack which must have happened hundreds of times during WWII. We lost because its cause and effect became confused and the inability of the average American to understand what was at stake and our interference with its governance which didn't happen in Korea. The differences between Viet Nam, WWII, and Iraq, is this. We won those wars ! We set the parameters for the outcome. In Germany we have a democratic government and it took years , in Japan, thank you through the genius of Gen Douglas MacArthur, there is also a friendly democratic government. Where necessary we eliminated through sundry means those opposed to our aims. In Iraq we won a brilliant millitary victory. Alas, we got anxious because of US internal politics. After the revolution it took this country (US) more than 10 years to come up with a workable constitution. Should we expect any more from the average Iraqi as we are now doing? One of the measures in the Sensenbrenner (R WI) immigration
reform bill HR 4437 was the so called "criminalization" of illegal entry making
the offence a felony. With White House objections the eastern Wisconsin
Congressman revised this to a misdomeanor with 6 months max and a $50.00 fine
and sought democratic support. While that revision passed anyway . Many House Democrats rebuffed the revision taking the pandering position essentially "no punishment for illegal entry".
Much was made of this difference of position by media watch dog groups such
as Media Matters with the Republicans charging the democrats who had a chance to change the law refused to do it while Democratic party members went around
making inflamatory statements including "jailing priests who assist illegals" none of which happened thus far..
The simple fact is and where the Media Matters report is skewed. Is what the
House Democrats are essentially saying its not a crime to illegally cross our
border and enter our country. Something the Republicans should have charged but
didn't. Instead they misrepresented the democratic position by saying the
Democrats could have voted for "decriminalization" and also didn't. The kernel
of truth is by taking the position the Democrats have on this bill they once
